About Lemonsjø

In 1978, the family took over Lemonsjø Fjellstue og Hyttegrend. It was the dream of running their own place that brought the family from eastern Norway to Jotunheimen 40 years ago.

Combining experiences & food since 1978

Fjellstua was originally built in 1958 to offer travelers a pleasant place to rest in scenic surroundings. At the time, the Fjellstua had 10 rooms and a dining room for 40. The place was more or less continuously run like this until 1978 when the Furuset family took over.

Since then, the Fjellstua has undergone expansion in several stages. The capacity of the café and fireplace room has been significantly increased. The rooms have been merged so that 4 units can offer today's expected standard. And last but not least, the mountain lodge now houses a state-of-the-art kitchen, opened for Easter 2007.

In 1985, ten rental cabins were completed. These have new kitchens that were ready for use in the spring of 2005 and an upgrade in the fall of 2015 consisting of new bathrooms, new floors in the living room and a dishwasher.

Along with development and maintenance, cleaning is an important part of the operation in order to offer the cozy surroundings we are praised for!

Cross-country skiing has been a focus area since 1978. Initially with self-driven scooter trails, then in collaboration with local sports clubs, which led to the foundation of Vågåfjell Turløyper in 2005. The trail team currently operates the Lemonsjøen-Brimi trail network, the Hindseter area and Øvre Sjodalen, as well as the hiking trail network.

The ski lift was built in 1985 and has been owned and operated by Jotunheimen Aktivit by Kjetil Villa from Vågå since 1998.

Lemonsjøen and Luseter have long been popular cabin areas. In 2004, extensive development of Lemonsjøen Fjellpark by Lemonsjøen Eiendom began. 800 beds have become available in the area in recent years in the form of private cabins.

Many tourists and visitors have found their way to Lemonsjø Fjellstue og Hyttegrend since we started, both once and many times, and we really appreciate that!
