Glitter peaks

Norway's second highest!

Glitter peaks

Glittertind, Norway's second highest mountain. Without the glacier on top, the altitude is 2,452 meters above sea level, and with the glacier, the altitude is currently (2016) considered to be 2,460 m above sea level. Glittertinden is located in the northeast of Jotunheimen between Visdalen and Veodalen in Lom municipality in Oppland county. The mountain can be reached via a marked trail from both Glitterheim and Spiterstulen. The glacier on Glittertinden has melted extensively in recent decades, and was previously Norway's highest mountain. In 1917, the top of the glacier was estimated to be 2,481 meters above sea level.
