The area

Lemonsjøen and Randsverk is a fantastic area in Jotunheimen with beautiful, varied nature in a vibrant cultural landscape belonging to Vågå, FjellNorge and the National Park Kingdom.

The area consists of Lemonsjø Fjellstue & Hyttegrend, Kalven Seter, Skarå Camping, Lemonsjø Alpinsenter and the cabin areas Lemonsjøen Fjellpark, Slomba, Gråhølia and Luseter. 3 short kilometers towards Sjodalen is the mountain hamlet of Randsverk with Randsverk Camping. Lemonsjøen offers tranquillity, nature experiences, outdoor life and plenty of opportunities for activities for young and old to enjoy in Jotunheimen.

In winter, Lemonsjøen is a popular area for skiing enthusiasts. We dare to say that here you can find some of the world's best cross-country skiing experiences! In the areas around the mountain lodge and in Heimfjellet, there are over 150 km of prepared and well-marked ski trails. The Jotunheim Trail connects the area from Brimiland in the north, past Lemonsjøen, Randsverk, further into Sjodalen with Hindseter, Bessheim and Gjende in the south. Heimfjellrennet is organized annually by Vågå Idrettslag. Viewpoint Trollhøe is perfect for those who want to test randone equipment, but also available on cross-country skis. Take the kids on a ski trip to the top, where you can get help from the ski lift on the way up!

Lemonsjø Alpinsenter takes you up to 1,250 m above sea level in a 1,400 m long ski lift with 5 spectacular slopes, in addition to the "Park" with small and large jumps and wild off-piste areas. Separate 150 m children's ski tower in a sheltered area. Parking for 400 cars at the facility as well as a large heating room. Lemonsjø Alpinsenter is home to Trollhø Høkkers, the freeride club with world-class skiers. Vågå Freeride Invitationals are held annually, audience-friendly and adrenaline-filled skiing fun! The alpine center has a full Easter program, especially child-friendly.

The area offers a number of opportunities for winter fun in fresh nature. Take time to listen to the silence, enjoy the moonlight over magical landscapes and perhaps experience the mighty Northern Lights playing in the winter night sky! During the winter, the reindeer herd of Vågå Tamreinlag visits the area and offers a fantastic spectacle. The moose, the king of the forest, crosses the ski tracks daily, a fantastic sight if you're lucky.

Lemonsjø Fjellstue & Hyttegrend rents out skis, sledges and snowshoes, as well as the winter activity Fjellkørling.

In summer, Lemonsjøen is an excellent starting point for trips to Geiranger, Trollstigen, the Sognefjord, Rondane and Dovrefjell. When it comes to hiking, Jotunheimen offers hits such as Besseggen, Galdhøpiggen, Glittertind, Rasletind and Knudshø. Or why not head up to Viewpoint Trollhøe, a nice 3-hour hike from the mountain lodge where panoramic views of Jotunheimen, Rondane and even further can be enjoyed on fine days! Rafting in Sjoa is still as popular as ever, along with canyoning and other fresh experiences, perhaps from horseback? Brimiland is our neighbor just 15km away with Brimiskogen Klatrepark, Brimi Fjellstue, Brimi Sæter and Arne Brimi's Vianvang. Glittersjå Fjellgård, a popular visitor farm, is located at the top of beautiful Heidal, where Murudalen takes you over to Peer Gynt's kingdom and Skåbu. Through Sjodalen you'll find Ridderspranget and Hulderstigen before heading over Nasjonal Turistvei Valdresflya to Synshorn Via Ferrata, Bitihorn and Beitostølen with a bobsled run and activity park for the kids.

Randsverk Camping has bike rental and a mountain shop. At Kalven Seter, young and old alike can enjoy activities known from the NRK production "Energikampen". Lemonsjøtrollet lurks beneath Gråhøe and Skulpturstoppen down by Lemonsjøen offers an extra dimension to the nature experience. Mountain trout await in many charming mountain lakes and grouse offer the challenge of autumn. The fall colors themselves are worth a visit!

Lemonsjø Fjellstue & Hyttegrend offers boat rental on 5 mountain lakes, well-marked hiking and biking trails as well as Jotunheimen Bike&Hike, the electric bike expert!

Traditional villages, history and culture
The traditional villages of Vågå and Lom in Ottadalen offer perhaps the country's richest cultural history. Visit two of the oldest churches in Norway! The Norwegian Mountain Center in Lom offers national park history and information as well as the Climate Park 2469 at Juvasshytta. Here you'll also find Steinsenteret and the popular Bakeriet i Lom. In Vågå, you can follow in Edvart Munch's footsteps through the Munch walk and visit the beautiful Prestegårdshagen in Ullinsvin.

Of the larger towns, Lillehammer is the nearest town, about 2 hours' drive away. Make time for a cozy stop and visit the Olympic memories.

Whether you're heading north, south, east or west, we at Lemonsjø Fjellstue & Hyttegrend are happy to help you with the route!
